South Canberra Youth Wind Orchestra

Rehearsal Time:  Tuesdays, 7-9pm 

Rehearsal Location:  St Peter's Anglican Church, Weston 

Age Range:  12-30+ 

Desired AMEB level:  No requirements 

Entry Via:  Interest - no auditions! 

Trial Rehearsal?:  Happy to have people try us out for a week or two 

Cost:  $75/semester, $50 band shirt 

Instrument Hire available?:   Yes - the band does have a couple instruments that it can loan members. No costs to band members

Types of Performances:  School fetes, Aged Care homes, Floriade, National Eisteddfod 

Instrumentation:  Piccolo, Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Bb Clarinet, Alto Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, Trumpet, F Horn, Trombone, Euphonium/Baritone Horn, Tuba, String Bass, Percussion (Drum Kit, Auxiliary & Mallets) 

Other Information:  The South Canberra Youth Wind Orchestra (SCYWO) is a community concert band run for youth by a committee of young volunteers, providing a relaxed, fun and social atmosphere for making music. SCYWO's music repertoire ranges from movie medleys, pop, musicals, classical and more - all sitting at around the Concert Band Grade 3-4 level.
