The Clemons Foundation's 2025-2026 School Year Scholarship Application

The Booker T. Washington High School Class of 1965 would like to provide two $1,000 scholarships to deserving seniors. We understand the importance of obtaining a higher education, and we know the cost. We desire to assist in the area of cost. The criteria for receiving the scholarship funds and the application are enclosed in this mailing. The scholarship applicant must:
1.Be a resident of North Carolina and attend a high school in Edgecombe County
2. Have a grade point average of 3.0 or better
3. Be active in the community, church, and/or school
4. Provide an essay introducing themselves and their future plans (one to two pages)
5. Provide a written reference from your school and two others of your choice (3 letters of recommendation)
6. Verification of acceptance from the institution you will be attending.
7. Must have no felony convictions, serious misdemeanor convictions, or any pending criminal matters

The Calvin Davenport Skills and Trades Scholarship is for current ECC
students and graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue a degree, diploma, or certificate in a skilled trade at Edgecombe Community College.
Programs Covered -
Welding, Small Engine Repair, Construction, Automotive, Collision Repair, Cosmetology, Plumbing, HVAC-Air Conditioning, and Agribusiness
What the Scholarship Provides -
*Financial support for selected recipients
*Trade-appropriate tools upon successful completion of the program (for qualifying scholars).

Thurgood Marshall College Fund’s (TMCF) 2026–2027 scholarship application cycle officially opened Monday, March 9, 2026!
TMCF scholarships are an opportunity for your students to apply for life-changing financial support to help them in their college journey. The wave 2 application closes Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time). No late submissions will be accepted.
Students Can Get Started Today:

When they’re ready, log in and apply directly at scholarships.tmcf.org.
Students who applied in Wave 1 should be sure to log in to the Scholarship Portal to explore additional scholarship opportunities.

TMCF Virtual Office Hours
The Scholarships Team will be available during virtual office hours on Thursdays from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM EST and 5:30 to 6:15 PM EST to answer students' questions about scholarship opportunities and the application process. Students are encouraged to drop in to have a member of our Scholarships Team answer their questions. No registration required.
We encourage students to start early, plan ahead, and take full advantage of these resources to submit the strongest application possible.

Check your school email - there are the 3 applications for the Ebonette Club of Tarboro attached to the email with the same information as listed below.
There are 2 applications for scholars who plan to attend 4-year schools, of which one is academic-based, and the other is need-based. The organization will award two $1000 scholarships.
There is also an opportunity for two $400 scholarships for two students who will attend a 2-year school.
The deadline for the applications is April 30, 2026. Students should turn completed applications in to me on 4/30, and the completed applications will be picked up by the Ebonette Club on 5/1.

Awards
Four scholarships per traditional county high school and one $2500 scholarship for Edgecombe Early College shall be granted annually, provided qualified candidates apply. Those applying from the traditional county high schools will receive a first-place scholarship at each school in the amount of $2,500. Three second-place scholarships of $1,000 each shall also be granted to each of the traditional high schools. One of the $2,500 scholarship recipients shall be selected as the grand winner of a four-year scholarship of $4,500 to be distributed in the amount of $1,500 in the first year and $1,000 per year for years 2, 3, and 4.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a scholarship, an individual must be a senior in high school, plan to attend a four-year college or university within the next twelve months, and have at least a B+ cumulative grade point average.

April 28th-29th: High School Scholarship Committee must meet to choose 4 finalists from each school
April 30th: The 4 finalist applications from each school are due to me at CO

The Eastern North Carolina Civic Group (ENCCG)—the oldest civic and
service network in the state, historically serving the 23 eastern counties of North
Carolina’s 1st Congressional District and surrounding areas—is pleased to
announce the ENCCG Educational Scholarship.
This scholarship recognizes exceptional graduating seniors who demonstrate
academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service.
The scholarship award is $500.
All minority graduating seniors with a minimum GPA of 2.5 who have been accepted to a two-year or four-year college or university are eligible to apply.
Application Deadline: May 1, 2026
Award Presentation: June 27, 2026, at Edgecombe Community College
Funding Release: Upon verification of college enrollment (submission of class
schedule)
