ECOMS UWA

Who are we?

ECOMS is an elected student body representing undergraduate and postgraduate students studying at the University of Western Australia Business School.

The society seeks to enrich the educational, business, social and welfare experiences of members during their tertiary studies, by forming a conduit between campus life and modern society.

ECOMS is the largest society on campus at the University of Western Australia with over 6,000 active members. It is also one of the oldest, being in its 72nd year of operation.

Education

The Education portfolio aims to enhance the academic curriculum, better connect students with academic staff and develop students skills that are needed to be high quality graduates. The Education portfolio communicates with students as part of representing commerce students at the UWA Student Guild's - Education Council. Speed Interview Night, Case Study Evening, Resume and LinkedIn Workshop, Greatest Debate and Study Nights are events that are run over the course of the year.

Business

The Business portfolio aims to connect industry professionals and students to provide insights into the modern workforce and allow them to form a diverse network. The Business portfolio communicates with ECOMS sponsorship partners and ensures we maintain strong relationships. Internship Panel Night (Financial Services), Women in Leadership, Indigenous Employment Evening and Internship Panel Night (Banking) are events that are run over the course of the year.

Social

The Social portfolio aims to bring balance to the intensity of university studies and provide fun opportunities for student to meet peers and create lasting memories. Pubcrawl, Sundowner, End of Semester Party, Wine Tour, Boat Party and ECOMS - End of Uni Ball are events that are run over the course of the year.

Welfare

The Welfare portfolio aims to provide pastoral care to students to ensure they have an enjoyable and fulfilling time whilst at university. PROSH, Cheese Toasties Stall, Bunnings Sausage Sizzle and Bake Sale, RU Okay Day? Relay for Life, Free Breakfast, Women's Week, Welfare Week and Volunteering Crawl + Picnic are events that are run over the course of the year.
