Swiss research universities have specific IB subject and score requirements. Swiss Public Research Universities IB entry requirements. It is important to refer to the official university websites for current IB requirements as they may change from year to year.
There is not an admissions application review process for the public universities, students register in advance and may enroll if they receive the required IB exam points. At some universities, students may need to take an entrance exam.
Students may need to provide testing or other certification to demonstrate language proficiency.
EHL, art/design schools and private institutions publish entry requirements and application links on their websites.
Universities of Applied Sciences usually require one year of work experience connected to the field of study.
EPFL - NEW RULES FOR NON-SWISS Students applying starting in 2025 and revised IB point requirement changes for Swiss nationals/residents, check EPFL.ch for the most updated requirements. There will be limits on the number of non-Swiss applicants admitted to the bachelors program. Rules for entering the CMS year have also changed for non-Swiss applications
General application deadlines (must check individual universities to confirm): 15 February (medical applicants); February 28 (need a visa); April 30 (do not need a visa)
