I recently graduated from Eckerd College with a degree in Environmental Studies and minors in Biology, Economics, and Animal Studies. These maps were created as assignments for the GIS course I took at Eckerd, using ESRI's ArcGIS10.x software.
This map was created to show where interstates intersect with protected areas in Florida and the resulting impacts of traffic to these areas.
This map shows the population density of South America by country in square kilometers.
This map uses data regarding the nesting areas of the endangered Akeke`e to recommend a protected area of critical habitat for the species.
This map expresses the danger posed by volcanoes in the Pacific Northwest based on number of known eruptions of each one as well as population density of the surrounding areas.
This map marks the location of osprey nests in Pinellas County on natural and artificial substrates and also shows a 500 meter buffer around each nest.
This map provides the location of tagged and untagged tree on Eckerd College's campus in 2017.
