Aaron Hawley is the Executive Director of Fine Arts for Ector County Independent School District in Odessa, TX. This marks Dr. Hawley’s fifth year as an administrator and his eighteenth as an educator. Dr. Hawley graduated summa cum laude from Ouachita Baptist University (BME) and has earned advanced degrees from Hardin-Simmons University (MM) and the University of North Texas (DMA). Prior to becoming an administrator, Dr. Hawley served as the Director of Choirs at Permian High School, where his choirs consistently received Sweepstakes and superior ratings at University Interscholastic League (UIL) contest. Under his direction, Permian Choir’s Kantorei performed at the 2018 Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Convention.
Dr. Hawley is an active member of TMEA and has previously served as the TMEA Vocal Division Chair for Region VI, the All-State Men’s Choir Coordinator, and an All-State Choir Section Leader. Dr. Hawley is also an active adjudicator and member of Texas Music Adjudicators Association (TMAA). He was recently elected to TMAA’s Committee on Standards of Adjudication and Performance Practices. Dr. Hawley has also served on and chaired the UIL Prescribed Music List Committee for Choral Music, and he is currently the UIL Assistant Executive Secretary for UIL Music Region VI.
In Odessa, Dr. Hawley is proud to serve on the board for the West Texas Symphony and serve as the President for the board of Odessa Arts. His professional affiliations include ACDA, Alpha Chi National Honors Society, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Phi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society, TAEA, TCDA, TFAA, and TMAC.
He is happily married to the love of his life, Mrs. Lauren Hawley. They are blessed to have an eight-year-old son, Shiloh; a seven-year-old daughter, Alice; a five-year-old Son, Wyatt; and a two-year-old son, Cyrus.
