DOES MY SENIOR NEED TO DO THE FAFSA?

Meeting the financial aid graduation requirement is mandated by the state of Texas. Your senior MUST meet requirement in order to walk the stage. You can meet the Financial Aid Graduation Requirement in the following ways:


We encourage ALL students to complete the FAFSA/TAFSA, although not everyone will qualify for income-based grants, many scholarship committees still require students to complete a FAFSA/TASFA in order to maintain eligibility.

***The state priority deadline for the FAFSA/TASFA has been moved to March 15, 2024***

For those completing a 2024–25 FAFSA form, you need the following information:


TEXAS APPLICATION FOR STATE FINANCIAL AID (TASFA)

Students who are classified by the institution as a Texas Resident who cannot apply for federal financial aid, using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), are encouraged to complete the TASFA. To see if you qualify for the FAFSA, please visit www.studentaid.gov. Do not complete both the FAFSA and TASFA.

TASFA applicants usually include students who are non-citizens or non-permanent residents of the United States. Before you begin, contact the institution you plan to attend to verify your eligibility to submit the TASFA. If you need help deciding which application (TASFA or FAFSA) to complete, start here.
