Special shout out to all of our guests who showed up and showed out for our annual Muffins with Mom event. Remember, to go from a "C" school to an "A" school, your support is not only needed for events but more importantly, academically!

March is going to be another busy month with all of the special events coming up. March is one of my favorite months of the year! Daylight Savings Time (March 8th), Spring begins (March 20th), National Reading Month Month, and so much more!

Our annual Read-a-thon and Reading Bee Competition is in full swing!

Who will be our next Mr. and Miss GES? Who be our Next Reading Bee Champion?

Please check your child's backpack and Class Dojo for information about our Read-a-thon and Reading Bee that went home Friday, February 27th.

We are less than 40 days away from the Louisiana Educational Assessment Program (LEAP) test for grades 3 thru 5. Our teachers are working extra hard to prepare them for the upcoming test in April and May. Parents, please make sure our students are completing homework (Gator Bites) daily and are getting plenty of rest nightly. It is also extremely important that our students arrive at school on time daily. Thank you for your continued support.

Greenbrier Elementary has decided to continue Read-A-Thon this year!

Read-A-Thon actually gets your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more. Our Read-A-Thon started Monday, March 2nd and ends March 16th. We don't want your child to miss out on all of the excitement this month. Don't forget to activate your reader's personal account page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress. We've chosen Read-A-Thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills. We hope EVERYONE participates!

1. Activate your child’s reader account today to earn them a free dress pass.

2. Send the link to your family and friends via text, email and Facebook to make donations to encourage and motivate your reader and earn more awesome rewards and prizes.

Greenbrier Reading Bee Competition

Reading Bee informational packets were sent home Friday, February 28th. Linked below are the Reading Bee Word Lists for grades PK thru 5th as well a Challenge Round Word List if needed. The Reading Bee Class Competition begins the week of March 17th. Students will study the words in the lists linked below for their grade and be ready to compete for their chance to advance to the Reading Bee Final Competition on March 27th. During the class/final competition, if competitors finish the list for their grade level, they will advance to the next grade level to determine winners.
