EBR Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) is a regional training provider for high school students in high demand, high paying jobs in the Capital Region. CTEC provides rigorous, project-based instruction, Industry Based Credentials (IBC), and dual enrollment opportunities that can be used towards an Associate Degree while in high school.
"Your story starts here and ends Workforce Ready"
CTEC is a specialized program for high school students in the Capital region. Students get hands-on training in a small group environment by instructors who are credentialed and have worked in their craft area.
Students from our high schools can apply to attend CTEC for ½ day programming that allows them to take specialized courses, many of which are dual enrolled courses with BRCC.
By still attending their home school, students have the flexibility of a specialized college type experience but also access to high school courses, extracurricular activities, and other high school experiences.
CTEC offers the programs listed below and details about the programs can be found on this page. EBR CTEC - Our Programs (google.com)
Message from the Director
Amber-Renee Boyd
I wanted to take this chance to introduce myself and share my vision for the future of CTEC. I have worked in education for the past 21 years as a high school teacher, assistant principal, principal, and school board supervisor. Over the past week I have come to realize that CTEC is a unique experience for students and it is a blessing to join the team. Our center allows students to not only participate in project-based learning, but to obtain Industry Based Certification and dual enrollment credits. The opportunities for students are endless and the partnerships with our high schools, colleges, and business partners allow us to continue to provide these experiences. The facility is phenomenal and the access to craftsmen who bring the students real workforce experience is unprecedented. I look forward to working with the CTEC leadership and instructional team to expand course offerings, increase enrollment, and market CTEC to the community.
Thank you Hollingsworth Ford
Students got to tour the facility and see the new Ford Lightening. They also received a new engine to work with!
