WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
Friday 12th January 2024
Dear Families,
It's been wonderful to see the children back in school this week and already, there has been some wonderful learning taking place. It is also lovely to see all of the children who participate in extracurricular activities at school, more of which will be available across the next two terms.
Mrs Bugg has worked with us in our Nursery for the last two years. Mrs Bugg is staring a new adventure from next week to support children at another setting. We thank her for everything she has done for the children at Staynor and wish her our very best wishes for the next chapter!
A date for your diary! On Friday 9th February we will be inviting parents and carers into school to to open our classrooms so that you can share in the leaning that is taking place. It will be from 2pm and we will send reminders nearer the time.
At February half term Persimmon are coming to school to clear out the very wild area of grass next to the playground, we would like to make this area into a sensory garden for all children to enjoy spending time in. We have secured some funding from Drax to support with this but if we have any family members of our school community who have expertise in landscape gardening and can offer time or resources to support us with this please speak to myself or Mrs Danks, we would be very grateful to hear from you!
Have a lovely weekend,
Best wishes
Mrs Winter
We would like to wish Miss Stewart who is now to be known as Mrs Findleton a massive congratulations on getting married over the Christmas break.
All of Staynor Hall Primary School wish Mr and Mrs Findleton the best of luck for the future.
What's Cooking?
Happy New Year to you all from Cook School! We have some amazing cook school sessions planned for the children this year, starting with Team Ouse!
Team Ouse have been in Cook School this week making some delicious sandwiches. They have followed a set of instructions and have demonstrated that they can make healthy choices such as using wholemeal bread, selecting a good choice of protein and choosing salad items. They have also had the opportunity to practise their spreading and cutting skills. They then enjoyed listening to 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea' whilst eating their amazing sandwiches. Luckily, we had no feline visitors in Cook School!
Next week, Team Wharfe will be joining me in Cook School to make some more delicious sandwiches.

Cook School Lead

Anisa is an accredited and certified Positive Parenting Coach, mother, and ex deputy head teacher, with 20+ years of experience working and supporting children and families. Anisa specialises in empowering and positively transforming lives of parents and children, who are facing stress, anxiety, or just day to day challenges of parenting – working with them directly, in group environments, and through corporate channels. Anisa is hugely passionate about using her coaching skills, and educational background, to find ways for parents and children to move through challenges they face in life, together.
Anisa is here to help bring about multi-generational change as she believes we often get stuck in the patterns from the past, following the path we ourselves tread, which isn’t always the right one to support our children and she is here to help families work things out, so they get to know that parenting does not have to be hard.
