Early American History
Welcome to an exciting school year! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and express my excitement about working with your child over the upcoming year. My name is Mr. Segall and I will be your child’s 8th Grade American History teacher for the 2018-2019 school year.
Our curriculum this year will focus on the following topics:
- United States Geography
- The American Revolution
- The United States Constitution
- Leadership of the United States
- Westward Expansion
- The Civil War and Reconstruction
This will most likely be your child’s first in depth exposure to these topics, which are essential to encouraging students to become knowledgeable, responsible, and empathetic citizens. Your student will be involved in a variety of activities utilizing many different technological resources. We will work closely with the Media Center specialists to ensure your child is a 21st Century Learner and proficient on many applications.
