What does the election process look like?

Elections are held in April or May for the following year. Prior to the elections and as outlined at general meetings, each potential candidate must obtain and submit two faculty and one peer recommendation on the Letter of Intent form provided by the Student Council advisors. Each candidate is also required to attend a meeting to review campaign rules and ethics. Once the candidates have filed for office, they will deliver prepared speeches, between one and three minutes, that will be posted on the Student Council website for the student body to view.   In late April or early May, the rising Junior and Senior classes will vote by online anonymous ballot for the Executive Board offices. If a Sophomore Representative has not been elected by September, an election for the position may be held within the council or Advisors may appoint one or more students to the position.
