CLASS OVERVIEW

We are studying some exciting things in 5th grade!

Our four units engage students in reading and writing while focusing on a specific aspect/genre of literature. We are working to improve grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension skills as well as engage students in variety of writing experiences as we explore:

5th Grade:

UNIT 1 Literacy Basics

UNIT 2 Nonfiction/Informational Texts- Ecosystems

UNIT 3 Fiction- Adventure Texts- Adventure & Survival

UNIT 4 Fiction & Nonfiction- Argument- Civil War Era

Hello!

Welcome to my webpage! I am the proud mother of a beautiful daughter, two handsome sons, and a fabulous son-in-law, all living their best adult lives. I have two simply amazing grandchildren! I enjoy spending time with them whenever I get the chance. Music, sports (college football & basketball), and hanging with friends are just a few of my passions. One passion that gives me purpose is the opportunity to help young people find their passion and discover the many talents that lie within them! I am so happy to be teaching here, at East Sac County Schools! Go Raiders!
