Meet Mrs. Hogan

I am a proud Southern Lehigh High School graduate with a passion for food and education. After earning an Associate’s degree in Baking and Pastry Arts and a Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales University, I worked in bakeries and office settings before staying home to raise my children. Later, I pursued a Master’s degree in Special Education at DeSales University, where I discovered my calling to teach. After working as an Instructional Assistant and a Special Education teacher, I began teaching Family Consumer Science at EHS in November 2021, and I’ve been living my dream job ever since!

I currently teach Creative Foods, Independent Living, and Positive Well-Being. In my cooking classes, I love seeing students gain hands-on skills and enjoy making their favorite dishes. Positive Well-Being is especially rewarding because it reminds me daily to practice positivity, happiness, gratitude, and health—lessons I also use in my life. In Independent Living, I hope to empower students to feel confident and prepared when navigating adulthood.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, attending my kids’ sports and activities, and being outdoors. I love hiking, paddle boarding, and relaxing at the lake and beach. Baking and reading are my favorite at-home pastimes, and I’m happiest when surrounded by my family and close friends. My students make teaching fun, and I’m grateful for the relationships I build with them every day!
