ABOUT TASMEEM 

Tasmeem Chowdhury Bonhi is working at East Delta University as Chairperson, Department of Public Leadership, Management and Governance and Assistant Professor at Department of Economics. She is also the Convenor of EDU Women Empowerment and Leadership Fund (WELF). Previously she has served the Access Academy as Coordinator.

Tasmeem is a researcher and an academician who started working in the development field of Bangladesh in 2012. With an undergraduate degree in Economics, and Master’s degrees in Development Studies and Public Policy (latter from the reputed University of Bristol, UK), Tasmeem has experiences of working in international environment as well as donor agencies. 

Tasmeem started her professional career as a Research Assistant to Dr. Minhaj Mahmud from Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) in 2012. She then joined the Project Management Team at The Fred Hollows Foundation, Bangladesh. She was awarded International Postgraduate Scholarship from the reputed University of Bristol, to pursue Masters in Public Policy. With the passion and motivation to contribute to the development of Bangladesh, she returned in 2015. During her Masters in UK (2015), she also worked with her university as a Student Researcher where she designed and conducted independent qualitative research. 

Since 2018, Tasmeem has been leading unique Master’s program at East Delta University titled, & Master of Public Policy and Leadership (MPPL), the first Master’s program in the world combining the science of policy and leadership. She has also launched the initiative “Policy Dialogue Series” in 2023, a platform created to discuss different policy concerns and bring stakeholders from government, NGOs, academia, media together for finding better solutions.
