Nazifa Nawar, a young academician has been serving at East Delta University since the fall of 2023. Given her commitment to academic success, she was awarded Summa Cum Laude, the highest academic award upon graduating from Asian University for Women with a major in Economics and a minor in Finance. Ms. Nazifa usually conducts AA099 (Academic Reading & Writing) and AA200 (Student Development Seminar) in the Access Academy. She also conducts ECO202 (Principles of Macroeconomics) for the School of Business Administration students.
She plays an active role as a committee member of the Women Empowerment and Leadership Fund (WELF), assessing the merit and financial need of potential female students to help fund their education. In alignment with this initiative, she also serves as the co-advisor of the Women Empowerment & Leadership Club, mentoring WELF recipients and empowering young women to grow as socially conscious leaders.
She formerly worked as a research assistant for Dr. Suparna Das, the director of AUW Economics department, studying the 'Impact of COVID-19 on the trend of domestic violence in Indian households' from the lens of economics. Her primary area of interest in research includes gender economics, policies against inequality, which extends to the analysis of macroeconomic variables, the gender wage gap, motherhood economics, consumption basket and feminist economics.
