Students in 6th grade take Theatre I (Creative Dramatics) as part of our elective wheel. Students in 7th and 8th grades can choose Theatre II, Tech Theatre and WRMS TV.

Welcome to the Theatre Department!

The 2019-2020 season will begin with a musical," ELF, jr'. a musical inspired retelling of the holiday film of the same name. Perfect for the middle school audience our show performances will be Dec. 9-12, 2019 with auditions Oct 1-2, 2019. Details will be posted closer to the date and all grades are encouraged to come try out!

Our 2018-2019 season began with the delightful fairytale and TV inspired "LAW AND ORDER: FAIRY TALE UNIT" and finished with the who done it murder mystery " REGISTER HERE". This play begins with a soldier arriving home from WWII so we dedicated our performance to our service members. A donation of $297 from our REGISTER HERE cast 'bucket brigade" fundraising was made to San Antonio based Operation Homefront. Operation Homefront is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive — not simply struggle to get by — in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. At Operation Homefront, 92 percent of expenditures goes directly toward delivering programs and services to the military families who need it most. Thanks to audiences for your participation! Next we are off on June 1st-5th on our bi-annual NYC trip. We tour all the famous sites in the Big Apple and will see performances of Blue Man Group, Disney's "Aladdin" and "My Fair Lady" and attend a master class with a Broadway performer.

The 2017-18 season featured Disney's "The Lion King, jr." and SCHOOL DAZE. WRMS audiences were delighted by all our favorite Lion King music direct from Broadway! With clever, student designed costumes and sets, our cast of 55 and crew of 15 6th, 7th and 8th graders transported audiences to the African veldt. We paired up with the Nobelity Project again for our community give back in support of their continued efforts to build schools and libraries Kenya and Honduras. SCHOOL DAZE cast and crew kept the fun going with a comedy for and about the trials and tribulations of the first day of middle school. Our 5th grade audiences were particularly pleased to get some pro-tips on how to survive and thrive in their upcoming 6th grade year. We ended the school year with a trip to WALT DISNEY WORLD to see the real lion king (in Animal Kingdom park), explore the "House of Mouse" and have a professional acting workshop with a Disney Cast Member!
