About Me

I began teaching English in 2009 after earning a B.A in English Literature from the UMBC, and in 2010 I completed my M.Ed. in Secondary Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Maryland, College Park. In my many years of teaching I have taught English and Reading in High School, Middle School, Elementary, and Pre-K. Each year I learn something new from my students, and I love to help them become stronger readers and writers. Some of my favorites books are: the Dogman and Cat-Kid Series (early readers), Mr Popper's Penguins (Elementary), Holes (Middle Grades), Chomp (Middle-High), A Christmas Carol (Middle-High), The Hunger Games (High School), and In the Garden of Beasts (High School/Adult). 

I'm looking forward to meeting our new Chaps in the 23/24 school year!
