Counselor's Corner

Welcome to the Counselor's Corner! I am so ready for an amazing new school year!

This is my third school year at VVE. I have been a licensed clinical social worker in Austin for 18 years. I received my Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Women's Studies at Towson University in Maryland. I then became a Longhorn and received my Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining Eanes ISD, I worked for six years as a Licensed Mental Health Professional in Austin ISD. I served a vertical team of 11 campuses while at AISD so I am super excited to have one home now at Valley View. I could tell the first time I walked inside the school that it's an amazing place!

I am not a native Texan but once I came here for graduate school I knew I wanted to stay! I love living in Austin because of the beautiful landscape, rivers, hills, the diversity, and the many cultural opportunities. My family loves to hike, camp and kayak in Austin and the surrounding area. Outside of school I enjoy reading, running and of course stay busy with my daughters' many activities. I love to continue learning and growing and am always energized after attending professional development or other trainings. I plan on keeping up an active twitter account (#bandersonvve) with articles and other things I find useful in my work and that parents might also find helpful.
