Meet Taylor Carlson

Hello Bobcat families! 🐾 

My name is Taylor Carlson, and I'm thrilled to welcome you to the 4th grade. 🎉

We are going to have a fantastic year and I am honored to work with your children as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally this school year. This is a very important year for independence, individuality, curiosity, and empathy, and I look forward to partnering with you all in developing, supporting, and strengthening these core skills inside and outside the classroom together. 🤝 Teaching has always been my true passion, and I feel most at home when I’m helping kids grow and foster a lifelong love of learning! 🍎

Originally, I am from Orinda, California and I attribute my love for school and education to the amazing educators in my own public school upbringing there. I studied International Relations at the University of Southern California and NYU and received my Master's degree in Childhood Education. I completed my student teaching in the New York City public school system and have been an AISD substitute teacher for the last two years. Before transitioning into education, I worked as a management consultant helping organizations with their talent strategies.

Before moving to Austin five years ago, my family and I called Brooklyn, New York home. When I'm not in the classroom, you'll find me spending quality time with my children 🧒🏽👧🏽, playing tennis and padel 🎾, paddleboarding 🚣‍♀️, swimming 🏊, working out 💪, illustrating 🎨, and crafting 🧵!
