ABOUT ME

HELLO FOREST TRAIL 3RD GRADERS!! My name is Ms. Kight (Pronounced like "kite!") This will be my 5th year teaching, and my 1st year in 3rd grade! I grew up here in Austin, attending Valley View, West Ridge, and Westlake. I had THE best experience in Eanes ISD and had incredible teachers throughout my time here that inspired me to go into education!

I am extremely close with my family and love to spend time with them. My immediate family includes Josh (Dad), Heather (Mom), Honey (Grandma), Hannah (Sister), J. Reilly (Brother), and Penelope (My dog, 5 year old Beagle). In my free time, you can find me running, playing kickball and volleyball during the week, singing and dancing, traveling, eating good food, reading, and going on hikes with my dog. I have also recently gotten into solo traveling. This last summer I went to Ireland and New York by myself!

I graduated from Westlake in 2014 and went on to Texas A&M (WHOOP!) where I majored in Elementary Education. While there, I participated in Fish Camp, my sorority, MSC Town Hall, and I worked at a Sweet Eugene's, a local coffee shop. My senior year, I was selected to be part of the USTAR program (Urban Student Teachers Advanced Residency) where I was able to student teach for a full year in an urban setting in Houston, TX. My first 4 years of teaching were spent in Pre K and Kindergarten.

3rd grade is a blast, and this year we are going to have so much fun and learn a TON. I am all about making learning EXCITING while also meeting the needs of and challenging all students. Teaching is my passion, and I CANNOT wait to get to know and serve my amazing class!
