My name is Maya Walker-Reich, and I just moved to Austin this past July with my rescue pup, Pinto. I am originally from Brooklyn, New York and have lived in Burlington, Vermont for the last 9 years, where I attended the University of Vermont for both my undergraduate and graduate studies. I received my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Special Education (2018) and my Masters Degree in Special Education K-8th grade (2021). 

This will be my 4th year as a Special Education teacher, and I am overjoyed to be joining the Eanes community. I already feel so welcome and at home, I am extremely excited for the 2023-2024 school year. 

 
I am an only child, with my parents still living back in New York-although I have extended family across the globe, from California to Australia!  I grew up having the opportunity to travel often, and as of this year I have visited  a total of 18 countries throughout my 27 years. I aspire to visit 30 before I turn 30. Along with traveling I also love to read, explore the outdoors, go on adventures with my pup, and spend time with my friends and family. 

I am very passionate about my work in Special Education and am happy to be a resource if you have any questions. I believe that a high quality educational experience is one that is inclusive and accessible to all learners.
