Welcome to First Grade!

My name is Madison Shipley, and I am so excited to be your child’s 1st grade teacher! This will be my fourth year teaching! I previously taught 2nd grade in Virginia for the past three years before joining the FTE community.

I grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University in Utah. After college, I moved to Washington, D.C. and began my teaching career in Virginia. My husband and I recently moved to Austin, for his medical residency at the University of Texas. Go Longhorns🤘 I already love everything about Austin and feel so lucky to be part of the FTE family.

In my free time, I love hiking, running, playing pickleball, traveling, watching sports, spending time with my friends and family, and doing anything outdoors!

I am truly looking forward to getting to know you and your family this year! My goal this year is to create a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment where your child can grow not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. I'm so excited for all the learning, growth, and fun we will have this year! I can't wait to partner with you in making this an amazing year! GO FALCONS!
