About Me

Welcome! My name is Mariah Deonarian and I'm super excited to be teaching K-5 music at Bridge Point and Cedar Creek Elementary.

While growing up in San Antonio, I found a love of music from my wonderful experiences in band. My main instruments are Oboe and Flute, although I have found great joy in some classical guitar and recorder!

I have been teaching elementary music for 17 years and middle school band for 1 after graduating from Texas State University in 2004. I have taught in Pasadena, Del Rio and Austin ISD, and now I'm here in Eanes.

I use a combination of my Kodaly and Orff training to teach music literacy through folk and composed songs. The students will be playing instruments: Xylophones, small percussion and drums. The older students will play recorder and ukulele.
