About Me

I became a teacher because of all the inspirational teachers I had along the way. I'm an Austin native and a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. HOOK ‘EM HORNS! I received my degree in Applied Learning and Development with a minor in Spanish in 2004. My love for learning led me to continue my education, and in 2009 I received my Masters degree in Elementary Education with a Reading specialization from Texas State University.

This is going to be my 17th year of teaching and my 13th year here at wonderful Valley View. In 2008 I had the privilege of being a Corps Member in the Teach for America program in Phoenix, Arizona. Teaching is my love and passion!

My family means the world to me, and my husband and I enjoy being active outdoors and watching our two daughters grow. Our daughters are 8 and 5 and also enjoy playing sports and helping us cheer on our favorite teams. They are so much fun and bring great joy to our lives!

Partnership in education is key to success and I look forward to getting to know all of my students and their families. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me.

A splendid year of learning and fun is up ahead!
