Hi, y'all! My name is Isabel Powell, and I’m so excited to be back at Bridge Point for another amazing year!
I’m a proud native Austinite (Go Maroons!), and it’s especially meaningful to teach in the community where I grew up. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Angelo State University in Early Childhood-6th Grade General Education and All-Level Special Education. This summer, I completed my master’s degree in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources from the University of North Texas. I began my teaching career in Mesquite ISD in the Dallas-Fort Worth area before taking a year away from the classroom to focus on graduate school. I joined the Bridge Point family last year and am thrilled to continue serving our students and families.
Outside of school, I’m always working on a new hobby! I have a slight Diet Coke obsession, and this summer I completed more than 30 needlepoint projects. I also love playing backgammon and cribbage and even host an all-women’s backgammon club. I have also started collecting vintage postage stamps, which has quickly become one of my favorite pastimes. When I’m not teaching, you can usually find me enjoying live music, cheering on the Red Sox or Bruins, exploring museums, eating Tex-Mex, or spending time with my cat and Dalmatian. Whenever school is out or on break, I head to my favorite city, Boston!
I’m looking forward to another wonderful year of learning, growing, and making great memories with our Bridge Point community. Here's to a fantastic school year!
I went to 12 home Sox games this past summer!!
My fur babies Ryder Oliver (Dalmatian) and Walter James (Cat).
We're still working on looking at the camera!
I'm a twin!
Another one of my hobbies is Sky Diving! I should have my solo license by next summer.
