About Me

I'm an Austin native, having graduated from Lake Travis, then later from the University of Texas (Hook 'Em Horns!), and feel so very blessed to be at such an amazing school and joining the awesome 4th grade team!

This is my second year at Forest Trail, but taught at Hill Country Middle School for 9 years and in the Dallas area for the 7 years before that, and genuinely love what I do! I've taught Spanish, world history, and Pre-AP English, but am so excited to bring my love for kids and experience to Forest Trail!

I enjoy traveling and learning about the diverse cultures of the world, which overflows into my teaching style. I don't sweat the small stuff, am a total mama-bear, and foster a learning environment that is fun, engaging, meaningful, positive, respectful, inclusive, and welcoming. In addition to building students' academic skills and confidence , we will also be focusing on self-advocacy and responsibility, improving organizational and study skills, social-emotional learning (SEL), and overall global citizenship. I know it's going to be a great year!
