Sixth grade is a general science year touching on life, earth, and the physical sciences. Students will use several resources, including our state-adopted online textbook, supplementary textbooks, non-fiction resources, handouts, notes, labs, and online resources to master material.
We've been 1:1 with iPads for over ten years, and we use them often in science class, integrating them into our already rich curriculum. Students are expected to bring charged iPads and earbuds each day to class; they are only to be out when working on assigned classwork that requires their use.
Our textbook is Integrated iScience Grade 6 (Texas) from McGraw Hill. There will not be a "hard copy" textbook given to the students. Students will receive PDFs of each chapter so that they can highlight, annotate, and take notes in a PDF editing app. These will only be available with their student log-in in Google Classroom.
Purpose: as needed for specific questions on homework, classwork, and test prep
