Meet Ms. Holden
About Me
Hi there, BPE families! My name is Emily Holden. Welcome to 4th grade. I am so excited to be a part of your learning journey this year. I cannot wait to get to know you all more and build a connection to help your student succeed and flourish this year.
I moved to Austin in 2019 from Buffalo, New York where I was born and raised. I taught Reading Intervention in New York for four years. During those years I taught students in grades K through 6th. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and my Master's Degree in Literacy. I graduated Suma Cum Laude from Medaille College located in Buffalo, New York. I decided to move to Austin after realizing how much I disliked the Buffalo snow and realizing I preferred the warmth. I fell in love with Austin for its beautiful landscape.
When I'm not in the classroom I love spending time outdoors with my dogs, Royce and Stella and my fiance, Jarrod. I love to explore new trails and relax at the park. I enjoy settling down on the couch or the balcony with a good book and a favorite snack.
My goal for this school year is to not only foster the learning of new academic skills and strengthen your child's learning, but create a safe and inviting environment where your child feels welcome, secure, and willing to take risks. It is important to me that each student knows that they are valued as a member of the fourth grade community. I look forward to working closely with you this year!
