I am delighted to be joining Eanes Elementary's Second Grade team as a collaborative teacher. This will be my eleventh year teaching at Eanes Elementary as a special educator. I have teaching certifications in General Education (EC-6), Special Education (EC-12), along with an English as a Second Language (ESL) supplement. While at Eanes, I have enjoyed co-teaching in collaborative classes, as well as providing focused, specially designed instruction in Language Arts and Math small groups. I love making connections with every student, whether it be in a large or small group setting!
I have a Biochemistry degree from Mount Holyoke College and spent many years as a research scientist and clinical trials researcher. Since the birth of my daughter with Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome) in 2000, I have applied my research skills to learning about individualized instructional strategies and inclusive best practices for students with a variety of learning differences. It has been my passion for many years, and I am thrilled to be able to support the learning and growth of our beautiful and uniquely talented children!
Outside of school, I love spending time with my creative and fun family. My husband and I have been married for 35 years and are blessed with three children. Our favorite activities are hiking and playing with our lovable, energetic Labrador Retriever.
