About Me

Hi everyone! ¡Hola a todos! My name is Diego Macias and I am thrilled for the opportunity to be the 4th grade Spanish Immersion teacher at Cedar Creek Elementary.

Previously, I taught 5th and 6th grade bilingual math and science in grade in Dallas ISD. I have also taught 3rd and 4th grade reading during Summer school.

I graduated with two bachelor degrees from the University of Texas in child development and French. I also completed my master of bilingual education from Southern Methodist University this spring.

Originally from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, I grew up in Austin since I was six years old. Now, I am relocating back to Austin to be closer to my family. During my free time, I like to cook, exercise, watch Netflix, go out to eat with friends, and spend time with family. I love to drink coffee as well!

Language exchange and teaching are my passions and I am looking forward to facilitating a fun learning environment at Cedar Creek. I can’t wait to be your child’s teacher!
