Hello! My name is Casey Gurka. This will be my second year of teaching at BPE! I will be continuing my journey in the second grade team as part of the Spanish Immersion Program. I graduated from Tarleton State University where I earned my BS in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have been teaching a total of 15 years with most of my experience in second grade. I truly love everything about second grade! I hope to instill in your child the love of learning! My goal is to build long lasting relationships with my students and their families.

In my spare time I love to spend time with my family. My family includes my son, Stone, our two dogs (Kaya and Clyde) and our cat (Milo). We love to hike, kayak and explore Austin and everything it has to offer! I also love to read, paint, and workout. I am so excited to start the 2023-2024 school year! Can’t wait to meet you soon!
