We are excited to welcome your Kindergartener and family to BCE!

This is a very special year for your child, building new relationships, independence, confidence, and resiliency. As your child's educators, we will be there every step of the way to support and encourage them as they explore and discover new things each day in our classrooms.

The Kindergarten curriculum is based on Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills standards. Students will receive hand-on learning opportunities and exploration in Language Arts, Math, integrated Science and Social Studies, Handwriting, and Social Emotional Learning lessons.

We focus on hands-on, exploratory learning opportunities. Lessons are covered in whole group, small group, and one-on-one, with differentiated instruction based on each student’s needs. Lessons are leveled to extend and enrich and support. We utilize many tools, including books, games, manipulatives, songs, and responsible use of technology to foster critical thinking and creativity.

We look forward to building relationships within our classrooms and learning from each other. It's going to be a great year!

A love of learning has a lot to do with learning that we are loved.

Specials Rotation

For specials, all Kindergarteners are mixed into one of three color groups: purple, pink, or orange. This gives them a wonderful opportunity to build relationships with other Kindergarteners outside of their homeroom class. Specials are on a 3-day rotation of Music, Art, PE. The easiest way to know which special your child has is to ask them which special they had the day before and think MAP (Music, Art, PE).

We encourage clothing and footwear suitable for movement activities every day for recess and especially on days your child goes to PE.
