Paulette Buchanan

About Me

Hi, I’m Paulette Buchanan, and I am thrilled to be teaching at Barton Creek Elementary this year. Teaching is my passion, and I have been fortunate to have spent many years educating children. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in math, from the University of Massachusetts. I also earned my Masters in Reading, from the University of Bridgeport, in Connecticut. I have taught in Fairfield, Connecticut, and Wellesley and Andover, Massachusetts. In 1996, I joined the wonderful Eanes community. I taught fifth grade, at Forest Trail Elementary, for twenty-two years and then worked part-time teaching fifth graders 6/7 grade math, at Forest Trail and Cedar Creek Elementary. This year I start my new adventure teaching 5/6 grade math at Barton Creek Elementary, and I couldn’t be happier! 

When I’m not teaching, my husband and I love spending time with our two sons, daughters-in-laws, and grandchildren. We have a fun-loving, five-year-old grandson and a sweet, ten-month-old granddaughter. We love dogs and have three golden doodles who bring us joy every day. My husband and I also enjoy golfing, gardening, and traveling. I'm so excited to spend the year with you. We are going to have SO much fun!
