Hello! My name is Jacquelin Bessette, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Connecticut. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Women and Gender Studies from Eastern Connecticut State University and my master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut.
I have several years of experience working with adolescents and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. My current clinical focus includes childhood trauma, grief and end-of-life care, attachment-related challenges, and caregiver support. I am especially passionate about supporting individuals through the emotional impact of early relational trauma and loss, as well as helping caretakers manage the unique stressors that come with their roles.
With a humanistic and client-centered approach, I work alongside you to explore the root causes of distress and support your healing process. My counseling experience includes working with anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, women’s issues, LGBTQ+ concerns, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
I draw from a variety of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, positive psychology, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
