My name is Alisicia Jackson. I am a Licensed Master of Social Work and also a certified School Social Worker. I currently work as the school social worker for two elementary schools. I love the students and staff that I work with and collaborate with and really focus on building relationships. I am really looking forward to bringing my expertise to the private practice realm!
I received my bachelors degree in Social Work at Central Connecticut State University in 2017 and my masters degree in Social Work at Springfield College in 2019. During my college career I interned at an elementary school, a high school and a family homeless shelter. I also have previously worked at a private wellness clinic where I provided therapy to children and adolescents. I also worked at the CdLS Foundation where I supported families whose children were diagnosed with this syndrome and connected them to supports and resources.
In my role at school I support students with behavior management skills, coping skills strategies, positive relationship building, emotional regulation and social skills. I also work on connecting students and families to outside supports such as therapy, food, clothing, housing and in home family support. I am really focused on building relationships in order to create a sense of belonging that will then support in gaining skills and tools to help in every day life.
Outside of work I spend time with my family, my dog Yoda and the most time with my daughter who is in preschool and loves being outside. We love attending events and finding things to do in our free time.
