My name is Daniel Showalter. I am a Business Administration major with an emphasis in marketing at Bridgewater College. I'm originally from Linville, Virginia and have lived there all my life.
Initially, I wasn't planning on attending college after high school. I was not sure what exactly I wanted to do or pursue, so I took a gap year and worked multiple jobs before deciding. During the summer of 2021 I decided to pursue a degree in Business Administration.
During my time at Bridgewater College, I have found myself as not only a part of my required courses, but as a member of numerous different groups that surround the college. I was a part of the Bridgewater Screaming Eagles Marching band, SHRM, and the BC Tuba Choir. I have been pursuing music as a hobby since I was in sixth grade and have found so much enjoyment in closing that chapter at Bridgewater. My main reason for choosing Business Administration as my major is because I wanted to follow in my family's footstep. The majority of my family are business owners and entrepreneurs, since I had been raised with that type of mentality I decided to capitalize on that upbringing.
During the summers I will spend time in Rothiemay, Montana at the S7 Ranch. It's a family-run ranch that has offered me many opportunities to grow and learn. I've been considered the lead in R&D and marketing as well. My tasks out there range from building miles upon miles of fence, or servicing vehicles and listing inventory. Overall, I plan on being a part of this business along with wherever my career may take me.
When I'm not in classes you can usually find me in a hammock during the spring in front of Bowman Hall strumming on my Ukelele.
