Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year!

Hi! I am Maria Cantu and I teach 6th Grade English Language Arts and social studies. I am looking forward to a dynamic school year working with your child! It is going to be a terrific year!

I am passionate about teaching and truly believe that all children can and will learn! It is very important that I provide your child with the skills he/she will need in order to help him/her to be successful academically, intellectually and socially.

My goal for your child is to prepare him/her for the essential tools he/she will need in his or her education. In order to do this, I will be implementing language arts curriculum based standards by using both practical and challenging methods. I hold high expectations for my students and expect to see that they will apply themselves in their academics. I will continually encourage your child to strive for excellence!

It is imperative that unconditional respect, understanding and appreciation are practiced in our 6th Grade class. I look forward to a fantastic year as we partner together to ensure the very best for your child’s success!
