We are very excited about the upcoming year and the chance to work with all the wonderful students at Canyon Ridge!
We believe that as physical educators, it is our job to teach the students of Canyon Ridge why it is important to be healthy, what you can do to be healthy, provide each student with activities and games to develop fitness, and then involve them in these activities to become physically fit. It is important through the intervention of physical activity, to teach and develop skills as well as learn how the body works. We feel that through a quality physical education program, students will learn to appreciate being active and continue to see the benefits of lifelong physical activity.
The five components of physical fitness are:
~Cardiovascular endurance
~Muscle strength
~Muscle endurance
~Flexibility
~Body composition
These 5 components measure your body's ability to use oxygen as fuel, your muscular strength
and endurance, the flexibility of your joints and your total body fat.
*Please have students wear sneakers and bring a water bottle for PE. Students will not be able to drink out of the water fountains.
