Grades K-12; All content areas; Basic Canvas experience recommended | When creating a quiz in Canvas you've probably seen it - a prompt asking if you want to use Classic Quizzes OR New Quizzes. While classic quizzes is still available this school year, take a look at some great features that are only available in New Quizzes. You just might fall in love with new question types like hot spot, ordering, categorization, and passages; the ability to change the overall quiz points to 4; the option to print a copy of the quiz and/or answer key; tagging individual questions with learning outcomes (standards) and viewing an outcomes report following student submissions; setting randomization of questions and answers; requiring a waiting period between attempts; and migrating over your classic quizzes.

Just as you take time to arrange your classroom and resources to improve flow and set students up for success, the same is true with your Canvas courses. During this session walk through simple course setup basics to get your Canvas class ready for students, including easy to navigate Course Shells, Modules, and Assignments. This session will walk participants through how to create and improve Canvas Courses for student use, along with how to add your own content that supports teaching and learning in your classroom. Participants will have a chance to get classes ready for use with students by applying what they learn to their courses with step-by-step instructions.
