Ladibug Document Camera


Learn how to connect the camera properly to get the best resolution possible. Explore the features of the camera besides just projecting the image, and gain unconventional classroom ideas on how to integrate a document camera into your classroom.

Document Camera Equipment Received

Be prepared to return at the end of the year.

For Best Resolution

On the bottom of the document camera adjust the DIP switch settings as indicated in image below.



Set Video Quality to High for a better resolution on your video.


  1. Select Menu button on remote or base of the Ladibug.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Capture.
  4. Select Image Quality.
  5. Set the quality to "High".

Connecting the Document Camera



HDMI cables are required for the sound system to work properly.

Two Options for Use

#1 Operate independent of the computer.

#2 Operate using the Ladibug Software

Press the SOURCE button to toggle between computer and document camera.

USB Cable NOT required for this option.

Launch the Ladibug software from your desktop to view the image. Click the Maximize icon to view the document camera image full screen on the computer/projector.

USB Cable required for this option.

This feature allows you to easily record video and capture images.

Ladibug 2.0 Software Button Functions

Above is an image of the buttons for the Ladibug. To the right is an explanation of each button. While using the software, after launching the software, hover over the Ladibug icon to activate this menu of buttons.

Capture an Image

Use the Ladibug software to capture image:

  • Be sure to plug in USB cable from Ladibug to the laptop.
  • The image will be stored in your C: drive in the Ladibug 2.0 folder that can be found in the Documents folder.

(C:> Documents > Ladibug 2.0)


  1. Click CAPTURE button to take a still image.
  2. If buttons are grayed out, select the PREVIEW button.

Record a Video

Use the Ladibug software to record video:

  • Be sure to plug in USB cable from Ladibug to the laptop.
  • The video will be stored in your C: drive in the Ladibug 2.0 folder that can be found in the Documents folder.

(C:> Documents > Ladibug 2.0)


  1. Click RECORD button to take a still image.
  2. If buttons are grayed out, select the PREVIEW button.

Settings to check when recording with Ladibug software:

Ensure video quality is set to "high":

  • On the base of the Doc Cam, press the menu button.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Select Capture.
  • Select Image Quality.
  • Select High.
