ActivInspire: Add Actions

Have your students saying, “Wow, how’d you do that!” Actions add an interactive quality to flipcharts. Enhance instruction by learning to apply actions to flipcharts to make them interactive. Use this webpage to learn how to identify, create and edit actions in a flipchart.

Lights, Camera, Actions.flipchart

Download flipchart by clicking on the title of the flipchart. (be sure pop-up blockers are allowed for google sites)
Then select the download button.
Use the flipchart to practice creating actions shown on this webpage.

What are Actions?

Action Browser

Click View.
Click Browsers.
Choose the Action Browser.
Select an object on the page.
Choose the action.
Select a target if applicable.
Click Apply Changes.

Don't forget to apply changes!

Hide and Show an Object

To Create a "Hidden" Action:

Select object that will initiate the action.
Select the Action browser.
Choose HIDDEN in action browser.
Select the target.
Click APPLY CHANGES.

Bring Objects to front or back

To Create "Bring Objects to front/back" Action:

Select object that will initiate the action.
Select the Action browser.
Choose Bring to Front or Bring to Back in action browser.
Select the target.
Click APPLY CHANGES.

Make Objects Larger

To Create "Make Objects Larger" Action:

Select object that will initiate the action.
Select the Action browser.
Choose Stretch Top Incrementally in action browser.
Select the target.
Click APPLY CHANGES.

Add Media

(Open a document, file, sound, flipchart, or website)

To Create "Open..." Action:

Select object that will initiate the action.
Select the Action browser.
Choose Open Document, File or Sound in action browser. (or Open Flipchart or Open Website)
Select the target.
Click APPLY CHANGES.
