FIFTH GRADE INSTRUMENT PROGAM

Fifth Grade Students at Alden have the fantastic opportunity to learn how to play a band or orchestra instrument as a part of their school day!

Students can choose from band and orchestra instruments and receive a weekly lesson during school (or after school if the family indicates they are available) where they will be taught how to assemble, hold, and play their instrument. The fifth grade program sets students up to be ready to be part of the sixth grade band and orchestra courses.

Starting an instrument in fifth grade is a long standing tradition in Duxbury, paving the way to some truly incredible experiences for our students as they progress through Duxbury's award-winning music department. Most years we see about 95% of the fifth grade sign up, making it a wonderful shared experience for students in their last year at Alden!

STEP 1: MEET THE INSTRUMENTS!

Students will see a demonstration LIVE in school on Monday, September 13 where they see all the instruments that they can choose from!
