Explore key resources and unpacking documents to build a deeper understanding of the standards and objectives.
Reflect on the instructional shifts needed to support effective teaching and learning aligned to the new standards.

Formative Assessment and Scaffolding PD Series Description
The NCDPI ELA Formative Assessment and Scaffolding Professional Development series will consist of three content sessions followed by grade-band specific technical assistance and coaching sessions. The goal of the professional learning series is to allow educators the opportunity to learn from, engage with, and be supported with the information and resources provided. The content of the first session in the series will provide participants with essential, core knowledge about the what and why of formative assessment process and practices. The content of the second session will provide the why and what of scaffolding tools and practices. The third session in the series will connect formative assessment and scaffolding, as well as guidance on how to use new NCDPI ELA created resources. Each subsequent technical assistance session will provide grade-band specific applications and resources. Participants will have opportunities to ask questions and share ideas.
