Veterans Day (Nov. 11) celebrates and honors the service of all United States military veterans. It is a time to say THANK YOU to those who have served our country.
Each year Addison Trail High School invites members of Addison’s Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 7446, the Addison Police Department, the Addison Fire Protection District, and current Addison Trail High School seniors with plans to enlist in the military following graduation to attend a luncheon in their honor. This annual event provides our veterans and first responders with the opportunity to enjoy lunch together, a Veterans Day video, and a display honoring soldiers with a connection to Addison Trail in our Library Media Center.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we were unable to host this annual luncheon. However, in spite of the pandemic and in true Blazer spirit, we continue to honor and remember the sacrifices of our veterans.
ATHS will be presenting each of the veterans with a personalized lawn sign recognizing and celebrating their service. In addition, our students collaborated and graciously sent cards and small gifts for our veterans!

To all veterans, living and deceased, thank you for your service and sacrifices so that we can live in a free country. We are profoundly grateful for and respectful of all you have done for us and for this incredible nation.
To every student and staff member that contributed to this year's recognition of these heroes... We cannot thank you enough and we truly miss you each and every day.
To Caryn Scimeca and Maryellen Marisie... You are both incredible! Thank you for all you do to make this recognition a success every year.
