This year is our second year of having our girls team up and going. We started off our season playing in the Friday night  T20 competition with teams from schools around Central Otago. 

We played Wakatipu high school girls in the Gillette Venus cup competition, unfortunately, we came just 3 runs short of the win which sadly was a repeat of last year's game against them too. The season was quite short for the girls but it’s really great to see improvement each player has made

I would just like to say a huge thank you to Dad (Lindsay) for coaching us and putting up with us and the same to Mum (Bridget) for managing the team every week and also scoring the games too. We really appreciate the time you both give to Dunstan girls cricket. Thanks to Dennis Mullally and Marcus Hamilton for their help with umpiring and also Marcus’ endless supply of chocolate bars every week. 

The 2020/21 season was a memorable one for the Dunstan 1st XI. The first part of the season saw the team win the T20 Barrie cup, and after a couple of nail biting games, the final was played at Molyneux and the boys won by 30 runs. The second half of our season was the longer 40 over format playing for the Partridge cup. Making this final was our goal for the season, we achieved this but the game itself was one for the books. We batted first and scored a measly 93 runs all out which put a lot of pressure on the team to bowl and field well, which is exactly what happened “rolling” the Wakatipu side for 42 runs all out. To top our season off we also won the provincial round of the Gillette cup and were one win away from taking on the top town teams. 

This is one of the best recorded seasons for Dunstan’s 1st XI and it couldn't have happened without our coaches Roger Hill and Phil Lord (who even kitted up for the team a couple of times) and our lovely manager and the head of the cricket committee Janine Nevill.
