Clay Target

Season Information: 

For those interested in joining or wanting to see what it is all about, there is a practice day in April at the Alexandra Clay Target Club, Crawford Hills Road at the end of the Galloway Straight.

A new member generally comes along 3-4 times before having to decide whether to continue or not. Once you have joined, the club requires a firm commitment for the rest of the season to attend practices and be available for competitions if required.

Before any new member can begin, we require a meeting with the student and their parent/caregiver.

Members are expected to provide their own hearing and eye protection.

Summary of Estimated Costs:

• Annual Membership Fee (Alexandra Club): $10 

• Registration Fee (NZCTA): $35

Practice costs:

• For the first 3-4 times for potential members $10 each week

• Weekly practices $20 DTL each week

• Additional $15 skeet each week

These practices include ammunition in the price

Competition Costs:

• Entry Fee (approximately) $40.00

• Additional $20 skeet

These fees include ammunition, but travel and accommodation costs are additional
