Performs to a high level in the sport as described in the sports bars criteria for each sport as outlined below
A bar is generally awarded to senior students unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Nominations generally come through the school committees. A nomination form is available on the school sports site for nomination of athletes from community based sports.
For any sport that does not have a suitable opportunity to gain representative honours, the administrative body may nominate a player/players with detailed supporting justification as to why they believe the student has performed at a sports bar level. That level at a minimum would be equivalent to a representative team in a sport that is highly participated in. Whereas it may be a National level for a sport with fewer participants.

If a player is made ineligible to play due to attendance or fortnightly report (Respect the Right to Play) they are ineligible for a sports bar.
