About Ms. Hermens
Past:
Ms. Hermens graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Genetics, Science Teaching Credential, and Master in Education. In between undergrad and teaching, she worked for various labs around the bay area including UCSF and UC Berkeley. This is her 13th year teaching at Dublin High School. She has previously taught Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, Forensic Science, AP Biology, PLTW Honors Biomedical Innovations, and Sheltered Biology.
Ms. Hermens loves to travel and is on a mission to visit all the national parks.

In summer 2014, Ms. Hermens was also fortunate to visit the Galapagos (as well as mainland Ecuador), Japan, and Costa Rica.
In summer 2015 and 2016, Ms. Hermens taught summer school Biology.
Current:
Ms. Hermens is the 300m-hurdle coach for the DHS Track & Field team. She has completed 18 marathons, two 50K (~31 miles) races and one 50-mile race in just under 14 hours.
Ms. Hermens is married and has 2 dogs (chihuahuas). She lives in Livermore. Her husband works for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
