Making a Difference
Title One is a federally-funded, general education program that provides supplemental instruction for those students who qualify. Selection is based on teacher recommendation, student performance on standardized tests and a few other criteria. Title One Math teachers are certified licensed teachers.
The Title 1 Math program focuses on math intervention and is designed to supplement services to students using a variety of models:
- Limited pullout, in which students are removed from their classroom for a limited period of time for intensive instruction.
- In-Class, in which Title 1 students receive extra assistance in the same setting and time period as their peers.
